I highly recommend Lauren Waddell as an attorney! Ms. Waddell represented me in a family custody matter that was ultimately resolved in the family court system. I hesitated writing this review for a long time but if you are a protective mother who is going through any custody battle then this firm will re-traumatize you at every turn. Protect yourself & your babies. I was encouraged to seek representation from Lauren due to her seemingly extensive advocacy for women’s rights. Lauren was confident in the initial consultation and didn’t hesitate on securing a 10k retainer from me. Once retained, her confidence went out the window and seemed more like my adversary than advocate. She is not educated in the slightest about coercive controlling and abusive behavior and at the end of the case actually had more sympathy for my abuser. She seemed constantly frustrated and annoyed by my emotion throughout the process, and just wanted my case to be over and done with, I lost confidence myself. Texas in general doesn’t have any empathy for mothers, it would be beneficial if you realize this before entering family court. You will be blamed, shamed and judged for how you respond when you are in survival mode. I was eight weeks post-partum when I was subjected to all of this. The system is incredibly flawed and failing women and children daily. I hired Lauren in the hopes to relocate to Kentucky, where I am from, instead my court order was written ended up being written strictly for Harris County. At least other moms who are subjected to these backward laws at least get choose which county they preside in. I was restricted even further. When I asked her about it, she never responded to my emails. Why would she? She already got paid. One other major disappointment was when she told my mother and I that she wasn’t used to working with “poor” clients. I never missed a single payment to Lauren and payed her upwards of $20,000 worth of fees. For what? I am now paying the ultimate price. No abuser should get the ability to dictate where you live. Saddened that she didn’t take this seriously, as it will cause generational harm to my entire family line. Spare yourself if you’d like to be fairly represented.
