Called this attorney to ask for consultation cost. He started asking me questions and when I started explaining, he kept interrupting me, using a condescending tone in his voice with me, and eventually told me he won't take my case. The problem is not what he said, but how he said it. He truly acted like a jerk. It's one thing to respectfully decline taking me on as a client and it's another thing to be a jerk and horrible human. I'm glad I got to see how he talks to people on the first call when he sees they have nothing to benefit him with because I don't want an attorney like that or a human being like that in general around me. It's possible to be a lawyer and a decent human, I've met plenty of them. No excuse. In response to the attorney’s reply: You don’t have to apologize to me for being upset when you don’t mean it. I never rebutted your “40 years” of experience. Yes, we all know it’s stressful. Congratulations on your achievements, sir. 👏🏼 I believe that my attorney should “fight like hell” too. You talked to me for free which is something I had no control over, that is something you chose to do sir. My previous attorney did not make an empty promise to me, that’s 100% an assumption you are making. I also don’t have to pay you or “know anything about you” to understand that the way you spoke to me was clearly disrespectful, that you interrupted me while I was trying to describe my case to you, and that your tone of voice with me was condescending. The fact that you are missing the point is evidence enough of what I said in my first review being true. I have met lawyers in my lifetime who are jerks and I’ve met some respectful ones being that I work in the legal industry myself. I reiterate what I wrote in my first post “the problem is not what he said, but how he said it.” You were very insensitive and did not speak to me with even the bare minimum level of respect. You simply could have been honest about not taking me on as a client and maintained the level of respect I and all people deserve, but you didn’t. The problem is that you don’t have respect for people, sir. It’s evident that you are a grown adult who finds it difficult to admit fault and apologize to other adults. It could have been as simple as acknowledging and apologizing to me, but here we are.
